It's Love Island season, which means argument over who gets control of the remote are at an all time high.

Couples fight over the telly on average about four times a week.

The volume levels, deciding what to watch, asking too many questions about the programme when it's on, and talking over a show were listed as the main bugbears.

The research, by streaming service Roku, also found getting distracted by your phone or falling asleep in the middle of a show also caused arguments.

The Irish Sun reports one in five couples got frustrated on a daily basis, and as a result nearly half moved to another room to watch the TV in peace.
