Easter and Christmas fall on very fortunate dates in 2020.

We all love getting more bang for our buck, and in 2020 you can really cash in on your time off work if you're clever about it.

With the new year creeping up at an alarming rate, now is the time to start planning your sun breaks.

And if you're able to get in early enough, you could be spending a lot more time poolside than normal next year thanks to some helpful Easter and Christmas dates.

Here's how you can take advantage.

Next year, Easter Monday falls on April 13, so if you book off April 14, 15, 16 and 17, you'll get a nine day break for just four days annual leave.

And if you're company allows a day off for Good Friday, then you'll bag a 10-day break.

Then comes the Christmas holidays, next year Christmas Day and St. Stephen's Day fall on a Friday and Saturday.

This makes Monday, December 28 the bank holiday day.

So if you were to book off December 21, 22, 23 and 24; as well as December 29, 30, and 31.

You could end up with a lovely 16 day break using just seven days of annual leave, when you throw in the New Year's day holiday as well.

In total you could get 25 days off (or 26 if you get a Good Friday day off) using just 11 days of leave, not bad!
