According to PureWow, orange is NOT the new black.
That's right, a career expert from Snagajob told the site that you should stay away from orange while dressing for that all-important interview.
“Research over the last 50 years has helped us to understand that 75 percent of a face-to-face conversation is non-verbal..."
"While orange might be your favourite colour, on the receiving end, orange can unintentionally communicate that you are an attention-seeking, over-confident candidate.”
PureWow also report that a 2013 CareerBuilder survey polled 2,099 hiring managers and human resource professionals across several industries.
And orange topped the worst colours list!
25 percent of employers agreed it was the worst colour to wear to an interview.
Okay, so what colour should we wear?
Obviously, what you wear is up to you and what you feel good in.
But this expert says that the colour blue is usually a good choice.
Apparently blue "conveys trust, responsibility and team spirit".
Although the one tip they have for video interviews, is to go with a deeper shade of blue, as lighter shades tend to be washed out on camera.
