Nightmare weekend for woman trapped in an elevator due to malfunction.
We've all had bad days at work but surely nothing quite like this?
Marites Fortaliza had her weekend plans well and truly ruined by a faulty lift in the Manhattan townhouse she works at.
Mrs Fortaliza is a cleaner in the home of billionaire investment banker Warren Stephens.
When she went into work on Friday, the 53 year old had no idea she would be spending her entire weekend trapped in the lift, reports NBC New York.
Being trapped in a little metal box for just a few hours would be awful.
Now imagine spending three days in that tight space. That's the stuff of nightmares.
A complete claustrophobic overload for the cleaner, who had no phone and no way of contacting the outside world.
Left alone with only her thoughts for nearly seventy two hours, Marites Fortaliza was eventually rescued on Monday.
The alarm was raised when someone entered the building and called the emergency services.
Mrs Fortaliza was brought to a local hospital and it is understood that she was dehydrated, but is doing well.
The cause of the unfortunate incident is currently being investigated.
We think she's earned herself some time off after that ordeal!
