This will bring a smile to your face.

Upon losing a loved one, one of the best ways to find comfort  is to remember and cherish the greatest parts of their personality.

It can be through a memento, a favourite memory... or in this case their sense of humour.

When Phedre Fitton passed away in 2013, her Husband was understandably devastated.

So when she left him with instructions to water the plants in the bathroom everyday, he obliged of course.

Only there was one catch... the plants were plastic - and it's taken years for him to realise.

The couples daughter Antonia Nicol posted the story to Twitter, and it went viral for all the right reasons.

She said her Mum gave 'strict' instructions for her dad to keep the plants alive. And that she can hear her Mum chuckling over the whole thing.

Since being posted, Antonia 's tweet has amassed over 27,000 retweets and 87,000 likes, as the story struck an emotional core with people.

She even shared a photo of her dear old Dad reenacting the plant watering:

Speaking to Indy 500 Antonia's said her Mother, died when she was 69 following five years with cancer.

''She'd fought cancer for 5 years but it beat her in the end in November 2013. My parents live in South Africa whilst I live here (London), so it was a very difficult time for us all.

When my dad found out that he'd been watering plastic plants for years, it was so funny for all of us and made us feel like she was still with us.''

She went on to add that both she and her Dad have been overwhelmed by the public response to the tweet:

''It's so lovely to hear my friends and family talking and remembering my mum again. She would have loved this so much.''
