Father Fred
When staff at Mountfitchet Castle in Essex noticed Nine-lost baby ducklings, without a mother, wandering around their grounds last Thursday, someone had to step up.
And that someone was Fred. The Labrador with a heart of gold.
In what could be mistaken for plot from a feel-good 90's Disney movie, renowned 'good boy' Fred has taken it all upon himself to watch over the lost little ones.
And by all reports, he's doing an outstanding job!
If this isn't one of the cutest things we've ever seen...
Taking the kids for a stroll...Fred is known to be good pals with the owner of the popular tourist spot, Jeremy Goldsmith. And Jeremy he is taking his new parental role very seriously.
“We brought the ducklings into the house as they are too young to fend for themselves, and Fred just took them under his paw - rather than his wing,” Jeremy told BBC Essex.
“He’s got a lovely nature and has grown up around rescued animals.”
Obviously the favourite child...
