What's in a name anyway...

Tattoos, like children, are for life.

So you'd want to be certain you and the person etching permanent ink into your skin are on the same page as to what's being written.

Unfortunately for one Swedish mother... she and her tattooer were not in sync... Making matter worse was the fact she was having her own son's name tattooed onto her body.

Thirty-year-old Johanna Giselhäll Sandström had planned to have her son Kevin's name etched onto her arm, standard right?

However her ''heart almost stopped'' when she noticed the artist had made a simple, yet colossal spelling error... they'd written 'Kelvin' instead. Awkward.

But rather than let it get her down — and face an expensive, painful removal process — the Mother decided she'd go down a different path...

She simply had her son’s name legally changed to Kelvin.

Problem solved.

Speaking to her local newspaper Blekinge Läns Tidning, Sandström said: “I thought I was going to faint.”

“I said I wanted the names of my children tattooed on me and I gave the artist their names. The artist drew the design and didn’t ask anything about the spelling so I didn’t give it any more thought.”

She returned to the artist, who laughed and said there wasn’t anything he could do apart from issue a refund.

After looking at tattoo removal, she and her husband came to the decision that the smarter option would be to rename the boy, who was aged almost two at the time.

Ms Sandström and her husband have grown to love Kelvin, as it’s unique. She explained that “no one else” has her son’s name.

Very true... plus he'll always have a great story to tell at parties too! Win-win.
