As an adult, do you crave child-free spaces to enjoy your coffee?

Or, do you consider cafés an area to enjoy family time with your children?

Entrupreueur Alan Andrews is gearing up to possibly open Ireland's first ever child-free café in Birdhill, Co Tipperary.

Alan has been listening to feedback from the public and seeing what interest is out there at the moment.

Taking to Instagram, he explained his  plans and has been taking on board opinons and views from the public and potential customers.

Alan owns Coffee Culture, which is an educational and training facility in Dublin and is thinking children over the ages of 12 or 14 would be welcome, but is proposing childen below that age wouldn't be.

Speaking to iRadio this afternoon, he explained that the focus in the roastery will be on an educational experience, rather than the standard casual-café experience.

He plans on running courses at the Old Barracks in Birdhill, where adult coffee-enthusiasts can learn about roasting their own coffee.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I want to open a cafe with a difference. . . Something that’s a destination. That’s why I have spent the last 3 years sowing the seeds and working on this @oldbarrackscoffeeroasters Project and finally this year a month ago we opened an independent artisan coffee roastery. . . Now I want to share this coffee learning with people who are really interested in how coffee is brewed, roasted, manipulated and perfected. Our space at the old barracks will be multi purpose. We’re going to house a live working coffee roastery downstairs and my other business @coffeeculture will deliver coffee education and training upstairs. . . In the roastery space we are going to create a café where you can come an have a coffee experience and learn at the same time - you will be able to brew your own coffee, learn about the roasting, watch coffee roasting, take part in tastings and much more. In order to ensure the space and customers are respected I am strongly considering an adults only policy / no kids zone. While this will most likely annoy some people I really believe this is crucial to respect the environment we create and the customers who will come for the experience. . . Agree ? Dis-agree ? Have your say in the comments below. #birdbeans #coffeeculturefam #experiental
