If you're stuck for plans this Saturday night, this might be the answer.

A party with a difference is taking place in Letterkenny over the weekend.

Jason Flood is hosting an open-invite 21st in Saint Eunan's GAA club in the town.

However, this isn't just your ordinary 21st. He's hoping to raise money for Pieta House and the Simon Community through the bash.

Jason, who's a member of the band Velvet Orchid, says it's "completely open invite" everyone is welcome to come along.

"I've no need for money or anything else", Jason told iRadio.

"I said if I could spend my 21st playing the music I love and raising money for a couple of good causes, that'd be the goal".

All money from Jason's 21st party will go towards North West Pieta House and North West Simon Community.

Jason explains why he picked Pieta House:

"We feel one of the biggest problems in society today was young males, especially around my age, having problems and difficulties with mental health".

He also told us why he chose Simon Community:

"We went to Galway for a gig", he explained.

"I remember just walking down the Galway streets and seeing the amount of homeless on the street, young Irish men as well".

And he reckons that if the party this weekend is a success, it could be something he repeats for future milestone birthdays:

"Look, if it works out this time, then I'd have no problem doing it again".

Fair play Jason!
