She can now only hear female voices.
A woman in China has been diagnosed with a rare medical condition that means she can't hear the voices of men.
The Daily Mail reports that the woman, who has only been identified as Ms Chen, went to bed feeling sick and woke up to find she couldn't hear her boyfriend.
She rushed to her local hospital where she was seen by an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist.
The female doctor, Dr Lin Xiaoqing, said Ms Chen had no problem hearing her:
"She was able to hear me when I spoke to her, but when a young male patient walked in, she couldn't hear him at all."
She was diagnosed with reverse-slope hearing loss, a condition where you can only hear high frequencies.
It's believed to affect only one in nearly 13,000 patients with hearing problems.
Dr Xiaoqing said the condition is temporary and she believes that stress and fatigue brought on Ms Chen's symptoms.
She's hopeful she'll make a full recovery.
