Paul Cummins, Board Chairman of Wilton Radio Limited (t/a iRadio), has announced the appointment of former RTÉ and Today FM executive Willie O'Reilly to the Wilton Radio Board.

Operating the North West and North-East franchises, iRadio has a combined weekly reach of 388,000 and its stations are a leading force in the regional radio franchises, licensed by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) in 2008/2009.

Commenting on the appointment, Paul Cummins said: "iRadio is delighted to welcome Willie O'Reilly to its Board and is looking forward to the contribution his wealth of experience in radio management and his in-depth knowledge of the media industry in Ireland will bring to the company."

O’Reilly was the former Group Commercial Director of RTÉ (2012-17), Chief Executive of Today FM (1999-2011), a former Chairman of the IBI (Independent Broadcasters of Ireland), and is currently a Director of the Irish Cancer Society.

Commenting further, Cummins said: "It is well known that the regional radio model was launched at a time of economic challenges in Ireland. iRadio has confronted and overcome those challenges to reach its present strong position and looks forward to further growth, and to continuing to deliver its compelling entertainment and information services to its listeners in the 15 counties it broadcasts to."

Meanwhile, Willie O’Reilly said: "iRadio is the great success story of Irish radio of the past decade. I'm delighted to be joining the Board as the station continues to grow, winning new listeners and advertisers across the country."
