Dublin Fire Brigade says unexpected items can cause fires.
We should all be taking precautions in the sun such as wearing sunscreen and drinking plenty of water, but there's another safety measure you should take - and this one is to do with your home.
Dublin Fire Brigade has taken to Twitter to urge householders not to leave mirrors, crystals and glasses on windowsills as they can shatter.
They've also warned that aerosols such as deodorant and hairspray can explode in the heat.
Mirrors, crystals & glasses left on a window sill can cause fires if the sun is reflected on to flammable surfaces. Aerosol cans can explode! This fire was caused by a vanity mirror left in a window.
