In-home listening devices might help you find The One.

In the not too distant future, popular virtual assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Home will be able to gauge if your relationship is on the rocks or destined for success.

A new report claims that in the next two to three years, the devices will be so advanced at analysing conversations that they'll be able to work out how couples are getting along.

Would you trust a device to predict the fate of your relationship?

The Imperial College Business School and online dating website eharmony teamed up to find out what impact artificial intelligence (AI) will have on love and relationships.

They found that by 2021, virtual assistants will be able to accurately gauge the happiness of couples 75 per cent of the time.

And when an argument breaks out, robots could even intervene with relationship advice.

The Future of Dating report also predicts that by 2025, the devices will be able to tell if there's sexual chemistry between couples.

They'll do this by working with information from activity trackers, which will monitor increased heart rate or blood pressure, eye contact or frequency of touch, and verbal communication patterns such as the usage of 'we' instead of 'I'.
