Students occupying the Dining Hall in Trinity College Dublin claim they've been locked in the building this evening.

Students inside say private security services are now blocking all doors into the Dining Hall, and there's no access to toilets or food and water.

Dozens of students camped out overnight in the building in a protest over fees.

Trinity has hiked the fee to repeat an exam to €450.

Students say this is despite an 82% vote rejecting the proposal when it was floated in January.

The university claims it's made the system fairer, by not forcing students who fail to repeat the year.

Yesterday, groups of students blocked two entrances to Trinity and prevented tourists from accessing the Book of Kells.

They vowed to continue their occupation of the Dining Hall until their demands were met.
