Who doesn't love Nutella?!

The hazelnut chocolate spread is so that popular that discounted jars sparked riots in France last month.

Fans can pay tribute to the treat today on World Nutella Day.

The spread was created in the 1940s by Italian baker Pietro Ferrero, but it was an American who thought it should have an annual celebration.

Writer Sarah Rosso founded World Nutella Day in 2007 and it quickly caught on, with makers Ferrero taking over in 2015.

You can find recipes and ideas for a Nutella-themed party on the official website, or upload your own favourite way of enjoying Nutella using the hashtag #WorldNutellaDay.

Here in Ireland, a restaurant in the capital is getting in on the act.

Ruby's Pizza Bar and Grill in Point Square is serving up Nutella pizzas, Nutella burgers, Nutella cocktails and Nutella cheesecake all day.
