April 18th is a glorious day because it's Michael D Higgins' birthday.
Our President turns 77 today.
Michael D has been serving as head of state since November 2011 and he's still going strong.
We love him for many reasons - his intellect, his human rights work, his short stature, his grá for the Irish language, his Bernese Mountain dogs, his love of soccer, and now that he's known as miggeldy higgins.
