We all make sacrifices for the parish but one Laois footballer really proved her loyalty to her GAA club when she left her debs to play a football match.
Emma Finlay plays for Shanahoe Ladies Football team and when her debs was scheduled for the same day as their Intermediate Championship semi-final against Graiguecullen she wasn't going to make any compromises.
The corner back left her big night and helped her team to a 3-11 to 0-1 over their rivals before heading back to the party at 11pm.
Shanahoe Ladies Football posted photos of Emma in her debs dress and football gear to their Facebook page, saying "Hats off to Emma for her commitment to the team! Enjoy your night!!"
