Lambtastic!
A church in New York uses sheep to mow its lawn.
Three ewes will spend the next six weeks grazing the grounds of The Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral in Manhattan.
The 'lambscapers' named Houston, Prince and Spring are the fifth group of sheep to be brought to the church.
Speaking to the New York Post, church administrator Frank Alfieri said:
"It’s one of the most anticipated happenings in the neighborhood. People line up six to seven deep on the sidewalk to see them."
The annual event started when the church's long-time groundskeeper announced his retirement.
Monsignor Donald Sakano said:
"I told him, 'What do you expect us to do? Get sheep?' And then I thought, 'Wait, that’s an interesting idea!'"
Five-month old Houston, Prince and Spring come from Buckwheat Bridge, a wind- and solar-powered farm in nearby Elizaville.
