A dog owner couldn't figure out why her pooch broke out after she cuddled her.
Sabrina Sieck from Florida adopted Cruella, a border collie lab mix, in 2014.
But she soon noticed that whenever they had cuddles, Cruella would get sick.
Sabrina said it started with a mild skin irritation, progressed to constant itching and culminated in a nearly hairless pup.
She admitted it was "a heartbreaking vicious cycle".
Worried, she took her dog to the vet but nothing was found. Sabrina then took matters into her own hands and tried different diets, baths, and even a Lycra body suit.
When nothing worked, she arranged an allergy test for Cruella – which revealed she's allergic to humans.
Human dander, to be precise – the microscopic flaky stuff we shed from our skin and scalp 24/7.
Pet allergies to human dander are reportedly fairly common, but often go undiagnosed.
Many pet owners are shocked to learn their dog or cat is allergic to them. But since humans can be sensitive to pet dander, it makes sense that some pets are also allergic to us.
Luckily, the solution to Cruella's allergy is simple. She takes an antihistamine to help control her symptoms, which means she can now enjoy cuddles with Sabrina.
