Update:
DonegalDaily are reporting that the cause of the killing of the fish has been determined as a natural event.
Killybegs Sea-Fisheries Protection Officers of the Sea-Fisheries Authority launched the investigation, which has now concluded.
An investigation has been launched after thousands of dead fish washed up in Bundoran yesterday.
Locals are said to be shocked by the mystery after the apparent Atlantic horse mackerel were found dead.
It's reported the SFPA and Inland Fisheries Ireland are investigating the incident.
Speaking to iRadio, Chairman of Bundoran Tidy Towns Micheal McMahon says he "never recalls seeing it before" and thinks it "has to be something to do with the other mammels in the sea"
"The tide came in and took a lot of them back out and the sea gulls had a field day. All their Christmasses came at once".
"There was fish all over the place", he added.
We hope there's nothing fishy going on.
