New research has found recycling is sexy!
To celebrate Earth Day, online dating platform Zoosk surveyed over 5,000 singles and analysed more than 123,000 dating profiles to determine how our love for the environment affects our love life.
It turns out the vast majority of singles care about the environment - a whopping 91% of daters consider themselves environmentally-friendly.
78% of singles think it’s important to date someone who cares about the environment, while 58% think caring about the environment makes you more attractive.
The study also found that littering is a dating deal-breaker. 74% of singles said it's their number one environmental pet peeve, followed by wasting food and leaving the lights on.
However, picking up litter is a dating deal-maker. 59% of those surveyed said picking up litter is sexy.
Other attractive eco-friendly habits include recycling, being energy efficient, gardening and shopping at a local farmer’s market.
