Say whattt?!
Research from the University of Newcastle in Australia challenges everything we know about tea. And we do love our tea here in Ireland.
Dr Quan Vuong carried out a study back in 2012 that's getting a lot of public attention in recent weeks.
It specialised in finding ways to "add value" to natural products.
This is the method that apparently generates the best taste:
- Put the hot water in the cup with tea bag
- Heat in microwave for 30 seconds on half power
- Let it sit for 1 minute.
Twitter hasn't been handling this news all too well....

This is disgraceful but like any good scientist I tried it and the tea was outrageously tasty. https://t.co/NMOkzOxKyG
