We bet whoever discovered this fella got a bit of a fright!

A snake has been rescued after it was found on a beach in Youghal, Co Cork.

Youghal Coast Guard posted a photo of the 1.5 metre-long reptile on Facebook, which they initially thought was a venomous turtle headed sea snake.

However, they've since said they now believe it's a Califiornia kingsnake, which isn't poisonous to humans.

Cork City Council were contacted and the snake was removed.
