A fish shop in Kuwait has reportedly been shut down after staff were caught sticking plastic googly eyes on fish in a bid to make them look fresher.

According to local newspaper Al Bayan, the Department of Commerce closed the store after a woman posted a video on Facebook of her washing the fish and removing the fake eye.
Hilarious images of the googly eyes slipping off the fish went viral and the fish puns weren't long arriving.
Some of the best included "this looks fishy", "I hope they go to court and are found gill-ty" and "they need to be put in their plaice".
