The Barbie brand has evolved with the times.
Now Mattel is taking another step into the new millennium by considering a same-sex Barbie family set.
Engaged couple Matt Jacobi and Nick Caprio are working with the toymaker to help create a same-sex couple for their wedding collection.
The couple created a campaign after they were unable to find a set that represented their family.
Their campaign got the attention of Mattel and they are set to meet with designers in L.A. later this week.
Nick said, "As more same-sex couples are having kids, your kids are going to have kids in the class that have gay parents and things like that too, so it's not that huge shock anymore."
