Until now, Ryanair allowed passengers carry one cabin bag on board along with one small bag (like a shopping bag for example).

But, that has now changed due to new Ryanair baggage rules that come into effect today. This now means that passengers can no longer take a large cabin bag on board with them, unless they have booked priority boarding, (which costs €5), flexi plus, family plus or plus.

The airline said these new rules are due to the the high volume of carry-on bags causing boarding and therefore flight delays.

Note, you can still bring a cabin bag, but these from now will have to be placed in the hold of the aircraft (A.K.A, you can no longer bring them into the cabin with you).

If you travel regularly, you may be used to giving up your bag at boarding regardless, but this measure is now a permanency.

Check out more about this new policy, alongside their new check in bag sizes, in Ryanair's video above.
