The dream marriage proposal turned into a nightmare.
A man took his girlfriend up a mountain to pop the question but the couple got lost and had to be rescued.
Joshua Mason and Katie Davis from Texas hiked up Jasper Peak in Colorado on Saturday.
Joshua wanted a isolated scenic spot to propose to Katie and he got exactly that.
After hiking more than 3,000ft up the 13,000ft summit, he got down on one knee and his girlfriend happily accepted.
But the romantic location was so remote that the couple lost their way.
It started getting dark and the pair, both in their late 20s, were soon disorientated.
According to CBS Denver, they had no cold weather gear and only a little water.
When they were finally found by a man camping nearby, the couple were showing signs of altitude sickness and dehydration.
The emergency services were called and they were removed from the mountain.
Boulder County Sheriff's Office said Joshua and Katie's engagement is still on, despite the ordeal.
