What colour are tennis balls? A simple question, right? But it seems there's no simple answer.
Just like "The dress" that divided the internet back in 2015, the tennis ball is equally polarising.
The heated debate started last month with a Twitter poll. 52% said tennis balls are green, 42% said they're yellow, while 6% said "other".
OBVIOUSLY green

Yellow green! ?

Mind blown. I'd no idea that people could consider a tennis ball green. It's a garish yellow no doubt, but can't be confused for green

I wrote green, but upon consulting wikipedia they're "fluorescent yellow". I retract my previous answer.

Then the world’s number one ranking men’s tennis player, Roger Federer, weighed into the debate.
The 36 year old, who has 20 Grand Slam titles to his name, said tennis balls are yellow.
OKAY ITS OFFICIAL MY DAD JUST ASKED @rogerfederer IF TENNIS BALLS ARE YELLOW OR GREEN AND HE SAID THEY ARE YELLOW pic.twitter.com/EXdXRr0oFa

Has Roger settled things once and for all? Not so, it seems.
Tennis balls are green. Why is this a question. Roger Federer is wrong. https://t.co/R93wElqjAq

I’ve always thought tennis balls were green but if @rogerfederer says they are yellow who am I to argue with the GOAT. They are yellow

But there is an interesting theory that whatever colours you saw "The dress" as is connected to the colour you think a tennis ball is.
Are ? yellow or green? @rogerfederer, please help. https://t.co/1kdKQfyTiS pic.twitter.com/VJa7hZDufj

If you're wondering why there's such a split in human's perception of colour, it's reportedly down to the way we perceive light.
We still think the tennis ball question is going to cause a bit of a racket though!
