Pope Francis will meet survivors of clerical sex abuse during his visit here this weekend.
The news was reported by The Reuters news wire service this afternoon, stating that Vatican spokesperson Greg Burke spoke to reporters saying that the meeting will not be announced until after it is over.
He added that it is up to the victims themselves if they want to speak afterwards.
The announcement follows a letter to members of the Catholic Church on clerical sex abuse that was published yesterday by the pontiff.
The letter condemns the crime of sexual abuse by priests and subsequent cover-ups.
