Stargazers are set to enjoy the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century on Friday.
The blood moon lunar eclipse, when the moon passes behind Earth and into its shadow, will clock in at one hour and 43 minutes and will see the moon turn a deep red.
That's because some of the sunlight going through Earth's atmosphere will bend around the edge of our planet and fall onto the moon's surface.
However, some fear this could be the end of the world.
Doomsday preachers view blood moons as bad omens of terrible events.
They're basing it on a quote from the Book of Joel in the Hebrew Bible, which reads:
"The sun will turn into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes."
American minister Irvin Baxter of the Christian organisation Endtime Ministries told the Mirror that the apocalypse is on its way:
"The Bible teaches that end event is coming just ahead of us now and that will be the greatest prophetic fulfilment in the last 2,000 years."
In a YouTube sermon, pastor Paul Begley said July 27th isn't the end of the world but it's a precursor:
"We are in the era of the apocalypse and this blood moon, which will be the longest blood moon of this century, is happening in the 70th year of Israel being a nation."
"It is happening the same year also that Jerusalem has been declared the eternal city of God and it is happening with the volcanoes already erupting in Hawaii and the smoke, the ash, all of the plumes and the volcanic rivers flowing."
