We rely on them so much but our smartphones are spoiling our nights out.
New research by Guinness and Trinity College Dublin discovered a whopping 94 per cent of people have more fun without their phones.
Only 6 per cent of those surveyed said their phone adds to their socialising.
The study was carried out as part of the Switch to Pub Mode initiative and was conducted over two separate Thursday nights out.
On the first Thursday night, a group of friends were allowed to use their phones but on the second Thursday night, they were asked to put their phones away.
The research also found that being on your phone isolates you from your friends.
So, put the conversation killers down and interact face to face.
