A new 57km motorway in Co. Galway opens today.
It's good news for motorists, as it's expected to significantly reduce journey times to and from the northwest.

The M17/18 Gort to Tuam stretch means that motorists will be able to avoid Tuam, Claregalway and Clarinbridge.
It's toll free and has been in the works for years. It's reported to have cost half a billion euro.
Good news about the new #M17 motorway. Now all we need is motorways all the way from Sligo to Galway and Dublin, and maybe even Letterkenny.
