The fallout is over fadas.
The National Transport Authority is being criticised for not spelling Irish names properly.
The NTA is reportedly blaming “technical limitations” for not including the fadas on people's Leap cards.
Activists, celebrities and Transport Minister Shane Ross are among those who've slammed the State agency over the issue.
Broadcaster Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh described the NTA's explanation as “rubbish”, saying “if you respect that person, then you have to respect their name”.
