These before and after results are almost too satisfying.

A mum whose kids were constantly getting all manner of stains on their school uniforms has shared her genius way to get them looking brand new again.

And it's painfully simple.

Dubbed the 'strip wash', it’s like a sexy version of soaking your clothes.

The mum in question is Cassandra Appleton, who recently shared the success of her technique Mums Who Clean Facebook page.

She explained that “all of these uniforms were washed last day of school and hung up, decided to strip wash before school goes back.”

The mum-of-four goes on to share how “mortified” she was at the results.

“It’s amazing what gets caught up in the materials that our machines just don't get out,” she shared.

Speaking with the website Kidspot.com.au, Cassandra explained that “it just gets out what our machines don't [wash out], what gets trapped and embedded between the fabrics.

"I use this on hubby’s work clothes, towels, linen etc, it truly is amazing."

So what’s in a strip wash?

Cassandra recommends the following products from Aldi as she’s found they don’t make the colours run.

  • Fill a bathtub with hot water
  • Add one capful of pre-treat soaker
  • 1 capful of in-wash stain remover gel
  • 2 capfuls of laundry sanitiser
  • Add the clothes and let soak for up to 24 hours.

Cassandra then recommends emptying the water and repeating the process.

Once you’re happy with the results, add the clothes to the washing machine with an extra rinse at the end.
