Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae's bicycle was stolen from outside a passport office as the Kerry representative was in Dublin to help constituents with a passport issue.
After emerging from the building after noon, the 51-year-old found that his bike was gone.
In an angry tweet, he wrote: "A message to the thief that stole my bike outside the passport office in Dublin this morning.
"I am looking for you, I will find you and it will be a sorry day for you that you ever decided to mess with me and my property."
He later added: "If the thief sends it back now that will be the end of it."
