A man in China has been charged with stealing a road and selling it for over €640.
It's after an 800 metre stretch of road in a village in Sankeshu, Jiangsu province mysteriously disappeared overnight.
Residents woke to find the cement roadway dug up - they rang police when they realised that roadworks weren't underway.
Officers soon discovered that a man, known only by his surname Zhu, had hired a digger to rip out the road. He had also hired trucks to ship the 500 tonnes of concrete to a building works business.
Zhu earned 5,000 yuan (approximately €646.13) from it.
He was arrested on theft charges and has been released on bail.
