Great news for the West!
A sister relationship has been established between Ireland West Knock Airport and Stewart International Airport in New York.
The main goal of the relationship is to share market research data to develop air services between the two facilities.
Speaking to iRadio, Head of Marketing at Ireland West Knock Airport Donal Healy said "it's a strategic alliance between Stewart International Airport in Orange Country, which is about one hour and 20 minutes from Manhattan, and Knock Airport.
"The aim is to develop air access between the two airports", he said.
The two airports will also be sharing market data.
Stewart International Airport is the latest transatlantic airport to Ireland, as it started services in July with Norweigen airlines to Dublin, Shannon and Belfast.
