Watch: Maroon 5 Super Bowl half-time performance slated

Maroon 5's performance at the Super Bowl has been slated by critics. The band, led by Adam Levine, were the headline act for the half-time show of the showcase in Atlanta, along with rapper Travis Scott.
The Band were rumoured to have been  chosen as the half time performance during The Super Bowl LIII of New England Patriots versus  Los Angeles Rams after Cardi B and Rihanna reportedly turned down the offer to perform over NFL racism claims.

Youtube Thumbs Down From Super Bowl Fans

Fans have criticised the performance on social media, describing it was 'boring' and a 'mess'. The official YouTube video of the performance has been liked over 6 thousand 500 times, compared to 56 thousand dislikes.

Sponge Bob delights Fans

One surprise act which did delight fans was  when Maroon 5 paid tribute to Spongebob Squarepants with a clip of “Sweet Victory,” a song that the cast of Spongebob Squarepants performed in an episode from 2001. In the episode, Squidward is tricked into performing in a marching band in what is seen as a clear tribute to the Super Bowl.

The episode, “Band Geeks,” is largely revered as one of the best Spongebob Squarepants episode in large part because of the performance
