Spit happens?!

Father's Day started out as a pleasant one for a man in New York.

Curtis Mays' daughter and granddaughter took him out for burgers and beer.

However, things started to go wrong when he got the receipt.

Along with the order to add cheddar cheese and mayo to his well-done burger was the request: "Please spit in it too".

Curtis told news channel abc7NY: "I ate my burger already. I felt like I was gonna throw up."

He claims he confronted the waitress but she denied she had instructed the chef to spit in his food.

After Curtis complained to the manager, the waitress was fired on the spot and he got a refund.

The manager said he had never had a problem with the employee before, and that it was very unlikely the chef actually spit in the burger.

Some people think that the waitress may have misspelled "Please split in two" but that phrase wouldn't make any sense.
