A man has been arrested after he went into a Dublin courthouse claiming to have a gun.
The incident happened this morning at the Family Courts in Smithfield.
Details are still emerging but it's understood the man entered courts with a suitcase after 11am.
He pulled out what he claimed was a gun and started shouting.
He then moved towards one of his family members and a barrister and opened his coat and claimed he had a device inside.
The area was immediately evacuated and the Garda Emergency Response Unit moved in.
The man was then arrested and brought to the Bridewell Garda Station for questioning.
Gardaí say an initiation firearm has been seized at the scene while the Army bomb squad is at the scene examining the suspect device.
The area remains sealed off as investigations are ongoing.
