This one is for love!
All the way Down Under, in the midst of a straining and at times vicious gay marriage debate, love has won a telling victory.
Quick back story...
Gay Marriage isn't yet legal in Australia.
And the Country is currently in the process of polling the results from a postal vote on the issue.
The campaign for the yes/no vote has been a long and vocal one.
So when it was announced that Macklemore would play his gay rights anthem 'Same Love' at half time of the NRL Grand Final (National Rugby League) in front of 80,000 spectators and millions more watching on TV, it caused quite a stir!
Many people opposed the performance, saying the NRL was 'taking sides' in the debate.
But, thankfully the show went ahead.
He killed the gig obviously... Check out his amazing performance here:

But no one could've guessed what happened next...
'Same Love' first rose to Number One on the Aussie charts all the way back in January 2013.
But, incredibly soon after the half time performance 'Same Love' once again rose to top spot on both the iTunes and the official ARIA Charts (Australian Recording Industry Association), four years later!

Amazing!
It just goes to show that in the middle of all that controversy, music speaks louder than words spoken in anger ever could.
Just another reason why we love Macklemore...
Performing Same Love at the #NRLGF was one of the greatest honors of my career. Thank you @NRL for the opportunity & supporting equality
