If you're in Leinster or Munster, plan to stay indoors from 4pm tomorrow until midday on Friday.
Met Éireann's status red snow and ice warning will be in place during those times, with the worst of the blizzard expected tomorrow afternoon, when Storm Emma meets the polar front.

You can expect severe disruption to transport and public services while schools, colleges and childcare facilities throughout these provinces will be closed tomorrow and Friday.
Given the disruption to transport and the safety risks arising before blizzard like conditions hit Munster and Leinster, all schools, third level institutions, colleges and centres of further education in red areas will be closed tomorrow and Friday.

Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus services in Leinster and Munster will not operate and all non-essential Government public service offices will be closed tomorrow.
Irish Rail services are operating this evening with some cancellations to Maynooth, Phoenix Park Tunnel and Intercity services.
Trains are expected to run tomorrow (Thursday), with some cancellations, until the afternoon. Services will then wind down between 12 midday and 2pm, with no trains operating until Friday midday.

Ryanair has stopped all its flights for the rest of today (Wednesday) while Aer Lingus says there won’t be anymore planes leaving for the UK and Europe. Check with your airline before heading to the airport.

An Post says all Letter and Parcel services for Dublin, Louth Wicklow, Kildare, and Meath have been suspended.
