No real surprises in the top five
The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has released its list of the most popular baby names in Ireland in 2017.
Unsurprisingly, Jack and Emily were the top names last year.
Jack is closely followed by James, Daniel, Conor and Sean.
While the most popular baby names for girls after Emily are Emma, Amelia, Grace and Sophie.
New names in the top 100 for last year are Theo and Jackson for boys, and Aoibhin, Nina, Pippa and Esma for girls.
The CSO has a cool new feature on its website where you can check how popular a baby name has been over the years.
The interactive tool goes as far back as 1964, and tells you the year your name was most popular, and how many newborns were given your name last year.
