Spotted by passengers flying into City of Derry Airport, it got people wondering about its origins, and questioning who was behind planting the different trees that make the cross so distinct from surrounding forrest.

According to ITV, The trees that make up the cross (measuring more than 100 metres long), were planted outside the village of Killea near the border with Derry by local man Liam Emmery, who passed away 6 years ago.
