The first glimpse of snow this season could fall on high ground this weekend.
A chilly weekend lies ahead, but it's not all bad - it's expected to be mainly dry with sunshine too.
Tomorrow will be cold and windy with some showers. These showers will be heavy or prolonged with a risk of hail or thunder in the north and northwest.
Wintery showers are expected on northern hills in the early part of the day and it's going ot be cold - temperatures will only reach around 5-8 degrees.
Temperatures on Saturday night are set to plunge to between minus two to plus two degrees. Widespread frost will form with some icy patches in places.
Sunday will be dry and fine with good sunshine after a frosty beginning. Sounds like a perfect winters day, in our opinion!
It will be cold though, so pack the gloves and scarf. Temperatres will hang between a chilly 7-10 degrees.
Temperatures will fall quickly once the sun sets, with frost to form and some icy patches too.
Regarding Monday, Met Éireann say "at present, Bank Holiday Monday looks like being dry and bright for most places. Early frost and ice clearing. But Atlantic coastal counties look set to be breezy, cloudy and misty, with a risk of some light rain at times there. But some sunny spells should develop elsewhere. Highs of 6 to 9 C., in moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, which may increase strong along Atlantic coasts. Dry in most places overnight and cold, with frost and a risk of some icy patches."
Have a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend and stay safe if you're taking to our roads.
