However, it's not just girlfriends who are worried about the game. Concerned friends and parents are signing the petitions.
A student named Elizabeth says her friend's school work is suffering:
"I don't know what to do, she's throwing her life away for the game."
While a man named Mark says children are addicted to the game:
"Fortnite is turning into more than a game, its turning into an unhealthy obsession. I have heard kids saying "Why bother to read books or do work when I can play Fortnite". It has to stop NOW."
Fortnite Battle Royale is a survival game available for free on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac and iPhone.
