Halloween is just around the corner and we're looking forward to scaring ourselves silly watching horror films.

There's a reason why some of us love being frightened - jump scares and creepy music increases your adrenaline, which gives you a feeling of exhilaration.

And science has proven that this spike in adrenaline can boost your sex drive.

Basically, the chemicals that cause sexual arousal are the same as those triggered by fear.

And that heady cocktail of serotonin and dopamine can be released by getting an adrenaline rush, such as a fright.

So, horror movies can help your sex life.

Perhaps skip the rom-com and step outside your comfort zone the next time you hit up the cinema with your other half.

Speaking of the cinema and horror movies, you can catch Scream and The Exorcist at a drive-in cinema in Galway in October.

iRadio is delighted to announce that we’re bringing back the drive-in cinema, in conjunction with Retro Drive-in Movies.
