Not everyone can stay home from work during a weather warning.
Medical staff around the country are braving the dangerous blizzards to look after patients in hospitals.
While the emergency services including Gardaí, the fire brigade, Coast Guard, ambulance and Defence Forces are ensuring the public are kept safe.
Not to mention council workers clearing and gritting roads and ESB crews restoring power.
Nurses camped out in hospitals last night while some medical staff were brought to work by the army and Gardaí.

The National Ambulance Service received over 1,000 calls yesterday. Fire crew assisted and brought women in labour to hospital.
Thanks to @AmbulanceNAS who dealt with 1,000+ calls yesterday in extremely difficult weather situations & with great cooperation from @defenceforces & local authorities. Conditions deteriorated significantly which made their job so much harder but incredible efforts undertaken

A number of people had to be rescued from cars overnight. Council staff are working around the clock to make roads passable.
