We love new clothes. Who doesn't?!
There's nothing quite like the feeling of buying a brand spanking new top on a Saturday and wearing it out later that night for your friends to ooh and aah over.
But did you wash it first? We're guessing the answer is no.
It turns out we really shouldn't be wearing clothes straight from the hanger because while we adore clothes, we don't adore lice, scabies and fungus.
Yes, a dermatologist claims that little critters and infectious diseases can be spread from clothes in shops. Well, that's disturbing!
Speaking to NBC's TODAY, Donald Belsito, a professor of dermatology at Columbia University Medical Center said:
"I have seen cases of lice that were possibly transmitted from trying on in the store, and there are certain infectious diseases that can be passed on through clothing. The other infestation I’ve seen from clothing is scabies."
Professor Belsito says you never know how many times someone else has tried on items so he personally doesn't "take any chances".
Will you be washing new clothes before wearing them?! We think we will from now on.
