Traditionally, grandparents pass knowledge and insight to their grandchildren.
The relationship between the generations is typically very special and treasured by all parties.
There's no denying that this remains the case, but a new study reveals that a huge amount of grandkids are helping their Gran and Grandad's with technology.
The research was commissioned by Disney to mark the launch of their search for 'Very Important Grandparents' around the UK.
Downloading/ streaming music and using emojis were aming the tasks and 'skills' that senior citizens picked up, while grandparents show youngsters how to do things like plant seeds, how to be a good personl and how important is it to try out new things.
Spokesperson Claire Ballard said: “The relationship between a grandparent and their grandchild is a special one.
“As parents rely on their parents more than ever to help with childcare, children are spending more time with their grandparents which means they are teaching each other a host of new things.”
Is your Granny/ Grandad on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter? The study shows that a huge 76% of grandparents are learning how to use smartphones and apps like this, alongside learning the names of big Youtubers.
Almost 80% of older Britons who took part in the survey said hanging out with their grandkids helped to keep them young.
Have you spoke to your Grandparents recently? Why not call them and arrange a time to hang out?
